DATIS
is a branch organisation of Czech Railways. Its main objective of activities
is represented by the ensuring of informatics for Czech Railways, it carries
out the tasks of a system integrator in the field of informatics for Czech
Railways. At the same time it provides a wide range of services to many
other customers. Its main tasks include the solution of informatics projects
from analysis up to the drawing up of a technological and programme model,
subsequent laboratory verification and realisation of a pilot project including
the delivery of computational systems, The solution is followed up by the
operation, updating and maintenance of the information systems. DATIS also
provides consulting and advisory services and organises training in the
field of IS/IT.
The
enterprise features 170 solver capacities, 107 operational capacities and
147 service capacities at its disposal.

International
Cooperation
-
. In
co-operation with the company HIT Rail, DATIS takes part in the ensuring
of international data communication of CD applications designed for the
autonomous communication network HERMES Plus. This transfer network serves
for the needs of associated European railways and it is the most important
communication media for all key applications of an international nature.

. Within
the framework of the connection to the HERMES Plus network DATIS has an
active share in the pilot verification of the FTP protocol, which should
serve as a standard protocol for the transfer of files along the new data
network HERMES Extranet on the basis of TCP/IP.

. One
of the most important international applications making use of the transfer
network HERMES Plus is the application of International Seat Reservation.
It makes it possible to carry out the reservation and issue of transport
documents for passenger transport using a selected network of international
trains of the most important European railways. For CD DATIS runs the system
ARES (Automatic Reservation System), which makes use of this application.

. DATIS
ensures CD participation in the association of advanced European railways
for the development of freight applications called RAILDATA, in both technical
and organisational terms. DATIS also runs a web site for this organisation.

. Within
the framework of the RAILDATA organisation DATIS ensures development and
operation of the national part of the application 37 "HIPPS" (Hermes Planning
and Production System). This international application of freight transport
is designed for the identification of the presupposed (planned) route of
a delivery between the member railways of HIPPS.

. For
Czech Railways DATIS has developed and runs the application A38 of the
"International Search for a Wagon". The application makes it possible to
enter an enquiry relating to the position and conditions of a particular
wagon on the network of the participant railways.

. DATIS
ensures, again for CD, the operation and development of the application
30 "Pre-advise of an international freight train". Within the framework
of this application the data relating to trains accepted from, and passed
to, neighbouring railways is exchanged, i.e. exchange of information on
trains crossing state border at the border crossing points.

. For
CD DATIS runs the application 70 "ENEE". This application makes it possible
to carry out remote update of the general database of railway operation
places of the UIC railways (stations, stops) for both passenger and freight
transports. Changes in the railway data can be sent immediately and the
list of changes is sent once a day to all railways connected.

. DATIS
co-operates on the development and maintenance of the LIM application designed
for the organisation FTE "Forum Train Europe". This application solves
software support for the processing of information on timetables of LIM
freight trains.

- computational and transfer systems of freight transport, online, which
makes it possible to monitor technological activities with principal subjects
within the framework of the railway operation, such as train, wagon and
delivery. It is formed by the following subsystems:

- Central information wagon system, online, designed for both CD and carriers.

Economic
information systems and clearing systems for Czech Railways
SAP
R/3 - Implementation of the economic information system SAP R/3 into the
Czech Railways environment, including the solution of the on-line interconnection
of an arbitrary IS and SAP R/3 and of the product SAP FI - penalisation,
which ensures, unlike the standard penalisation processing (only for the
entire company, possibly accounting circuit), also the processing of penalisation
invoices by operational section
