The Institute

The activities of the Institute are wide. The teaching staff are academics who are involved in consultation and research and maintain close links with industry. The co-operation with industrial companies is concentrated on solving special technical problems and projects. Arranging conferences, seminars and special courses for practising engineers is an additional activity of the staff of the Institute. The Institute is also the seat of editorial office of Engineering Mechanics Journal, which is an official journal for mechanics in the Czech Republic. In 1997, a new integrated teaching and research centre was constituted inclose co-operation with the Institute of Thermomechanics, Czech Academy of Science, Prague. Itworks in the area of Mechatronics and was incorporated into the Institute.
